UFC commentator Joe Rogan has declared Khabib Nurmagomedov as "THE GOAT" following his dominant victory over Justin Gaethje.

Nurmagomedov and Jon Jones are not letting go of the debate about who should be considered the greatest fighter in UFC history.

'The Eagle' staked his claim as one of the MMA GOATs by submitting Gaethje at UFC 254 to become the undisputed UFC lightweight champion.

His 13th straight victory inside the Octagon improved his overall professional MMA record to a perfect 29-0.

The undefeated superstar received widespread acclaim from fans and critics including Rogan who hailed him as "THE GOAT."

On Instagram, he uploaded a picture of Nurmagomedov with the caption: "Khabib Nurmagomedov is THE GOAT."

Nurmagomedov has since replaced Jones as the No.1 pound-for-pound fighter in the UFC.

Speaking immediately after last Saturday's main-event bout, UFC president Dana White also named him as his pick for MMA GOAT.

"What a night. Wow, man. He is the baddest motherf**ker on the planet," he said about Nurmagomedov at the UFC 254 post-fight press conference.

"Let's start with... there's like a feeling out process for two minutes, and then it's on. Those two were going. The pressure that Khabib puts on you is unbelievable.

"Literally didn't respect his punching power. Just walked right into everything, did what he wanted."

Nurmagomedov walked away from the UFC after successfully defending his title.

"Today I want to say this is my last fight," he told Jon Anik at UFC 254.

"No way am I coming here without my father. When UFC comes to me about Justin [Gaethje] I spoke with my mother for three days.

"She didn't want me to fight without my father. I promised to her this was going to be my last fight and if I give her my word, I have to follow through with this.

"There is only one thing I want from UFC, to put me as No 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world because I deserve it."
