Jon Jones looked to make a bold prediction for Israel Adesanya vs Jan Blachowicz on social media - before immediately deleting his tweet.

UFC middleweight champion Adesanya challenges light heavyweight champion Blachowicz at UFC 259 on Saturday night as he bids to become a two-division champion.

'The Last Stylebender' is 20-0 in MMA and is confident of securing victory this weekend - but Jones doesn't see it going that way.

Jones took to Twitter on Friday evening and tweeted: "Jan by KO" before swiftly deleting it.

'Bones' is a former light heavyweight champion and relinquished his title last year to step up to heavyweight.

Blachowicz defeated Dominick Reyes back in September to win the vacant title and this will be his first defence.

It comes as no surprise Jones has predicted Adesanya to be beaten considering their rivalry in recent years.

However, Adesanya is keen to mix it up with the 33-year-old and he told Ariel Helwani he's targeting a clash at the end of this year.

He asked: "Where does heavyweight fit into all of this?

"Like I said, I want to go back down to 185lbs, but I have to see how this plays out because... yeah, the continent of Africa deserves three world champions from the UFC, it is a stronger image, it is a stronger, more powerful connection, you know what I mean? So, yeah."

On a fight against Jones, he insists there must be a crowd with the UFC currently operating behind closed doors in America.

"Unfortunately, it may not be in summer or July, but there is still December. There is still December 2021," the 31-year-old added.

"All I know is that fight needs a crowd. I can't do that in an empty arena."

UFC president Dana White wants to see Adesanya and Jones go at it having previously revealed his desire to book them against each other.

"That's the fight I would love to see," he said about Jones vs. Adesanya back in December 2020.

"Somebody asked me yesterday if you could make one fight in 2021 - that's the fight that I picked."

Jones' next fight is slated to be against the winner of Stipe Miocic vs. Francis Ngannou II.
