Jon Jones has shown off his ripped physique ahead of a highly-anticipated move to heavyweight.

The UFC star relinquished his light heavyweight championship last month and he is seeking a new challenge.

'Bones' is eager to mix it up in the heavyweight division and he knows he'll have to be at the top of his game.

He took to Instagram to show off his progress and captioned the image with: "New weight class. Same team."

Jones is eager to face off with a whole host of new opponents including Francis Ngannou and current heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic.

But one massive wildcard could be Brock Lesnar, who is currently a free agent after not re-signing with the WWE.

Lesnar hasn't fought in the UFC since 2016 but a return to the promotion could be on the cards.

UFC president Dana White admitted he would consider bringing the 43-year-old back if he was "seriously interested" in fighting.

When asked about Lesnar vs Jones, White replied: "It would be a good introduction for Jones into the heavyweight division. If they wanted to do it, I would do it."

On Twitter, Jones called 'The Beast Incarnate' out with the simple message: "Brock I'll beatcho ass too."

While Jones' heavyweight debut is a hot topic, current division king Miocic isn't thrilled about the Rochester-native taking over.

"A hundred per cent I think so," he told Michael Bisping on the Believe You Me podcast when asked if he should be the one fighting Lesnar.

"Listen, I just think about it more and more I do think 100 per cent if anything I would get the Brock Lesnar fight first or be asked first.

"I didn't know [Jones] called the shots. I didn't know that."

Jones isn't expected back in the octagon this year and his last action came back in February, when he defeated Dominick Reyes at UFC 247.

Who do you think Jon Jones will fight in his first heavyweight contest?
