Former UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway put on a striking clinic as he outclassed top contender Calvin Kattar at UFC Fight Island 7.

Holloway dominated Kattar en route to a lopsided unanimous decision victory in the main-event on Saturday.

The classy Hawaiian lit up his opponent, landing a slew of vicious elbows as he busted up Kattar's face.

The 29-year-old also ripped brutal body shots and landed some lethal spinning attacks as he returned to the win column in unbelievable fashion, setting a UFC record of 445 significant strikes.

Holloway even shouted "I'm the best boxer in the UFC" while dodging punches from Kattar in an incredible sequence during the final round.

The final scorecards read 50-43, 50-43 and 50-42 to Holloway who produced one of his best performances of his glittering MMA career.

His first victory since July 2019 could see him face the winner of Alexander Volkanovski vs. Brian Ortega.

Of course, he has two losses to the current UFC featherweight king and boasts a victory over Ortega.

As for Kattar, his loss snaps a two-fight winning streak.
