Conor McGregor has shown off his new jacked physique ahead of his anticipated UFC return, with fans joking he's set to come back as a heavyweight.

McGregor is on the mend after undergoing surgery on his broken leg that he suffered against Dustin Poirier last July.

He has been keeping his supporters updated on his progress as he posts regular updates online.

And his latest picture on social media has stunned UFC fans, with the 33-year-old sporting a remarkable physique.

The 'Notorious' shared a picture of himself looking stacked alongside his partner, Dee, on Twitter and Instagram.

McGregor's impressive built sent his fans into overdrive.

One said: "Undisputed UFC Heavyweight champion 2022 trust me," while another joked: "[Francis] Ngannou next."

A third added: "Jesus what weight is he walking round at serious muscle. mental to think he used to hit 145."

Another commented: "This guy was the featherweight champ at one point..."

A fan mentioned a move up to welterweight: "Probably weight 180lbs, it's time to move up welterweight."

Despite being away from the Octagon, McGregor has hit the headlines with his furious call-outs.

He's also been on the wrong end of call-outs, too, with the likes of Michael Chandler and Nate Diaz wanting a piece of the Irishman.

McGregor has also been slammed for his antics, with former UFC middleweight title challenger Chael Sonnen branding him a 'little rich weirdo' in a scathing rant.

"Conor is on the verge of becoming а little rich weirdo," he said.

"It's the last thing I wanted for him, he's posting things, then deleting them.

"Conor isn't going to step in with Mаx [Holloway] any more than he was with the guy from last week, the week before, or whoever he pulls out of his hat for next week. He'll have to take care of himself. I've got to give the troll everything I've got.

"As а former troll, I understand. If they're in the UFC, you didn't step foot in it, you didn't throw а single punch, and you can steal а headline on ESPN+, you're doing something right."
