Lightweight contender Dan Hooker has called out MMA star Nate Diaz with UFC champion Israel Adesanya even chiming in on their social media exchange.

Diaz recently posted a video of Hooker beating Gilbert Burns, who's next in line for a title shot against UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.

The Stockton slugger aimed a dig at the Brazilian contender with Adesanya reacting to his Twitter upload.

"That's a good ass fight!" The UFC middleweight champion wrote.

Diaz swiftly replied, saying: "Your boys the #1 welterweight right now."

Hooker then weighed in by asking him a question: "@NateDiaz209 so 55 or 70?"

Diaz has yet to respond to Hooker's challenge.

Though a match-up between Diaz and Hooker would be a fan friendly clash considering both of their fighting styles.

'The Hangman' hasn't fought since his 'Fight of the Year' contender with Dustin Poirier in June.

His defeat to 'The Diamond' snapped a three-fight winning streak which included victories over James Vick, Al Iaquinta and Paul Felder.

As for Diaz, he last fought in November when he suffered a TKO loss to Jorge Masvidal for the BMF title at UFC 244.

The return of Diaz could help out the UFC who're looking for marquee bouts for their upcoming pay-per-view events in November and December.
