Paddy Pimblett Reveals His Payout For UFC London, Fans Genuinely Can't Believe It

Paddy Pimblett has revealed his payout for UFC London and fans genuinely can't believe how little he was paid for his stunning performance.

Budding superstar Pimblett submitted Kazula Vargas in the very first round to record his second UFC win.

Even though he wasn't main-event or co-main event, the Liverpool man was the star of the show as he attracted a huge amount of interest ahead of the sold-out O2 Arena event.

Despite carrying the card, Pimblett has only guaranteed $12,000 (£9,000) - and a further $12,000 (£9,000) if he had won his lightweight clash.

Of course, he beat Vargas to take home the extra $12,000 (£9,000) and secured a $50,000 (£38,000) post-fight bonus.

Speaking to Barstool Sports, he explained: "Twelve and 12. No, yeah, 12 and 12, so 12 to show and 12 to win."

The 27-year-old added: "It goes up after every fight, but you're in a contract, so it's whenever they want to offer me a new one, they offer me a new one.

"So, it's just one of those things."

Conor McGregor, who has been compared to Pimblett following his rapid rise to stardom, was on a similar contract in his early days with the UFC.

But MMA fans were shocked to learn of Pimblett's purse.

One tweeted: "$4.5 million gate... he had the biggest numbers on the night by far, the biggest attraction to the card... and he gets 12/12. That's f**ked up."

A second wrote: "That's a joke. The guy was the SHOW."

A third added: "He is right to not fight better competition without getting a better contract, this is ridiculous."

Dana White spoke glowingly about Pimblett following his victory at UFC London and claimed he could headline a Fight Night show in his next Octagon outing.

"I'll give you an example," the UFC boss said in the post-fight press conference. "On my Instagram, I posted the faceoffs yesterday for the heavyweight fight [Aspinall vs. Volkov]. Did 120,000 views.

"Paddy's faceoff did 1.3 million. So, all the talk going into the fight about his walkout and all this sh*t, listen, it's real.

"His numbers say yes - he could headline a Fight Night [next]," White added.
