Respect.

Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov once invited Conor McGregor to his home in Dagestan, despite being the subject of a barrage of abuse from the Irish fighter.

It has been another controversial week for McGregor. On Monday night, the former lightweight champion produced a now-deleted outburst.

Following Dustin Poirier's win at UFC 264 earlier this month, Nurmagomedov aimed a tweet at Dustin Poirier saying that good always defeats evil.

McGregor then responded by saying: "Covid is good and father is evil?" and many believed he crossed the line with his comments that were later deleted.

Khabib's father and trainer, Abdulmanap, tragically died last year following complications caused by Covid-19.

In the aftermath of those recent comments, a video of when Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov forgave the Irish fighter for his inflammatory words ahead of UFC 229 began to circulate online.

In the build-up to that fight, McGregor labelled Khabib a "mad backward c***" and his father a "quivering coward" in a heated pre-fight press conference.

Weeks later, after Khabib defeated the Irish fighter, Abdulmanap then gave the following interview:

"Today I invited Conor to our home," he said. "Yes, I made this statement. I invited him as a guest. He can visit Dagestan why not.

"It's all in the past, we should not stop there, life goes on. Our religion should show grace not only in words but also in deeds. If he comes you will see that he will be our dear guest."

This isn't the first time Nurmagomedov forgave McGregor for a number of insulting comments against his name and family.

"I forgive Conor McGregor for what he said," Abdulmanap said in an Instagram post.

"It is necessary to analyse what happened in the past and learn lessons from it. We have decided to move to other heights. I hope this is a blessing. InshAllah."

Nurmagomedov also invited McGregor to a combat tournament in Russia in October 2018.

"Distinguished guests, I invite again to the tournament our close friend [actor and former UFC fighter] Oleg Taktarov and [Conor] McGregor," Abdulmanap said via Russia Today.

"I said that I forgive him [for all the insults], it's important to be kind-hearted!"

The fact Nurmagomedov decided to forgive McGregor, who trash-talked his way through press conferences, throwing insults and accusations throughout, says a lot about the man himself.
