Khabib Nurmagomedov believes that fierce rival Conor McGregor "drunk too much" when he posted a sickening tweet aimed at his father.

Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, who was also Khabib's coach, was hospitalised in May 2020 after his heart condition was exacerbated by coronavirus symptoms.

The legendary former MMA coach later passed away due to complications caused by coronavirus.

Khabib was rocked by Abdulmanap's death as the UFC legend admitted that he couldn't continue his MMA career without his father after his sensational win over Justin Gaethje at UFC 254.

McGregor, who was defeated by Khabib at UFC 229 in 2018, reignited his rivalry with the Russian superstar last month.

Khabib tweeted that "Good always defeats evil" when Dustin Poirier claimed his second victory over McGregor at UFC 264 in Las Vegas.

However, McGregor pulled no punches towards Khabib by posting "Covid is good and father is evil?" before deleting his tweet.

Speaking on Hotboxin' With Mike Tyson, Khabib claimed that only an "evil" person could target someone's father, wife, kids or religion.

The 32-year-old Russian superstar also called out McGregor for "always" deleting controversial tweets that he sends out.

"When he talked about this, only evil can talk about your father, like wife, kids, religion," Khabib said.

"If you're a normal human, you're never going to talk about this stuff. For me, I think he posted this tweet [when he had] drunk too much or [had done] something. He always delete these tweets.

"When he become normal, [he looked at his phone] and said, 'Oh, what I did.' Then he delete. This is my opinion, what he does all the time."

According to MMA Fighting, Khabib brought up McGregor's incident of punching an older man at a Dublin pub 'showed his heart.'

The Eagle explained: "When someone is not with us, he is not even alive, this shows you what you have inside, this shows, like, how dirty you are.

"When you are one of the best in the world, and you come and you punch someone like 70 years old, like an old man [in a pub], this shows your heart. This shows who you are inside, how dirty you are.

"When you have parents and you have kids, how can you show yourself like this? I don't understand why his close people don't tell him, 'Hey, what's going on?'"
