Conor McGregor Brutally Rips 'Twerp' Firas Zahabi For Max Holloway Claim

McGregor isn't happy with the suggestion by famous trainer Firas Zahabi that Max Holloway would beat him if the pair had a rematch.

Conor McGregor isn't one to mince his words and he's not the kind of man to accept being told that he'll lose, so when someone does tell him that it's no surprise he'll bite back.

It's difficult to imagine that Conor McGregor has ever entered into a fight he didn't think he was going to win. Hell it probably goes beyond a fight to pretty much anything that he enters into.

McGregor isn't undefeated in MMA or in UFC but everytime he steps foot in the octagon he fully believes he's going to win the contest.

Whilst the Irishman is still recovering from his loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov some have speculated that his next fight could be a rematch with Max Holloway.

Tristar coach Firas Zahabi, who was George St Pierre's coach, reckons that Holloway would win any rematch. In an 'Ask Me Anything' on YouTube Zahabi said, "If I had to pick Max Holloway vs. McGregor today, I would pick Max Holloway. I think Holloway has grown leaps and bounds since then. In my opinion, Holloway would out-punch him, outwork him. He would do very much what Diaz did [to Conor McGregor], but more. I think McGregor got away with a lot of stuff like the leg kicks against Diaz, but I don't think he'll have that against Holloway.

"Holloway has the same type of output as Diaz, the same kind of chin as Diaz. He's more athletic than Diaz, he has more variety in his attacks, he has more kicking, kneeing and elbowing, and his chin is just phenomenal. So I really think he would take it in the later rounds. I think the blueprint for beating McGregor is more well understood by the roster."

To the surprise of, I'm assuming, no one that summation didn't go down too well with the 'Notorious' who took to Twitter to reply and have a go at the trainer for never being a fighter.

27 year old Holloway now holds the featherweight title that McGregor never lost and is undefeated in 13 fights since the loss to the Irishman in 2013.

There's far from any guarantee that these two will meet again but Zahabi has certainly given the Notorious enough motivation should it ever happen.
