Khabib Nurmagomedov Responds To Chaos Caused By Conor McGregor

The Russian is still facing Max Holloway for the lightweight title at UFC 223 on Saturday night.

Khabib Nurmagomedov was the target of Conor McGregor's attack following the press conference for UFC 223 at Brooklyn's Barclays Centre last night but in typical fashion the Russian doesn't seem too bothered by it.

It's been a ridiculous week by all accounts when it comes to UFC 223 but the craziness reached a new peak last night when Conor McGregor attacked a bus that several UFC fighters and staff were on board.

The beginning of the week saw Tony Ferguson pulling out of the fight with Khabib because he injured himself on television recording equipment, the fourth time one of the men had pulled out of facing the other, and he was replaced by featherweight champion Max Holloway.

McGregor was then finally stripped of his lightweight title by Dana White and the Notorious one clearly didn't take it well at all.

Last night he turned up outside the press conference and caused mayhem, attempting to throw a guard rail at a bus carrying fighters and staff of the UFC, including Khabib.

The Irishman has handed himself in to police but one man who doesn't seem shaken at all is Khabib, speaking to Ariel Helwani he said:

"I am laughing inside. You broke window? Why? Come inside. You know UFC don't let you come inside. If you real gangster why don't you come inside?

"This is big history gangster place. Brooklyn. You want to talk to me? Send me location. We have to talk? I am gonna come, no problem. I grew up like this. I don't grow up throwing chairs at window. This is not my bus."

Of course the quotes have led McGregor fans to question why Khabib didn't get off the bus if he's so tough, to which Khabib fans have said that he wanted to but the doors were locked, so I guess that's why McGregor didn't get on the bus? God I love playground arguments on Twitter.

Back to the serious business. The attack reportedly happened after Khabib and some of his team cornered Artem Lobov, a teammate of McGregor's, earlier in the week with Lobov initially on the card.

Lobov has now been taken off the card because of his involvement in last night's incidents whilst Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg have both had to pull out of their fights with injuries sustained in the fracas.

The whole thing is very unedifying.
