3 Vs 3 MMA Is The Sport We Didn't Know We Needed

3 Vs 3 MMA Is The Sport We Didn't Know We Needed

Six men, two teams and just one octagon. The Philippines really has got the ultimate version of MMA. Someone call Dana White.

If Dana White really wants to sort out the issues between Conor McGregor and his teammates and Khabib Nurmagomedov and his teammates then the UFC will need to adopt multiman MMA fights like in the Philippines.

Conor McGregor's heated rivalry with Khabib Nurmagomedov goes way beyond the two men. Sure the pair got it on at UFC 229 last year but the bout is infamous for everything that happened before and after the four rounds in the octagon.

There was Khabib's surrounding of Artem Lobov, one of McGregor's teammates, the incident with the bus and then the post fight attacks when the Russian jumped out of the octagon.

The two main protagonists of the rivalry both picked up bans for six months whilst two of Khabib's teammates were banned for nine months and a year.

McGregor would like a rematch with Khabib but the Eagle has said that the Irishman needs to earn a rematch, which is completely understandable in fairness.

However thanks to a clip from the Philippines we've found a new alternative to really push their feud to the next level.

Apparently 3 vs 3 MMA exists in the Far East and we'd like to see Team Conor vs Team Khabib, Paulie Malignaggi could even be in octagon for the Russian:

Malignaggi has had his beef with both McGregor and Lobov in recent times. The Irishman and the American clashed when they sparred ahead of the former two weight UFC champion's boxing fight with Floyd Mayweather.

The American has now moved to bare knuckle fighting where Lobov, recently released by UFC, has joined him.

So that's Khabib, his cousin and Malignaggi vs Conor, Lobov and Dillon Danis, the man attacked after the UFC 229 fight, who wouldn't want to watch that?

Before that dream fight, and it's only a dream, can happen Khabib will have to defend his lightweight title against interim champion Dustin Poirier.

The two men are rumoured to be facing in Abu Dhabi at UFC 242 in September.

Will Khabib keep hold of his belt and undefeated run or can Poirier stop the Russian before McGregor ever gets the chance?
