Cristiano Ronaldo's sisters send Erik ten Hag biblical warning after Manchester United squad axe

Cristiano Ronaldo's sisters send Erik ten Hag biblical warning after Manchester United squad axe

Cristiano Ronaldo's siblings have reacted to Erik ten Hag's decision to drop him from the Manchester United squad for Premier League clash.

Erik ten Hag and Cristiano Ronaldo is a tale at Manchester United feels a little bit like a soap opera.

Cristiano Ronaldo, after being one of the greatest to play the game in the last two decades, has found himself stuck on the bench of Manchester United under Erik ten Hag.

Marcus Rashford is currently the Dutchman's preferred option up front in the absence of Anthony Martial through injury.

Ronaldo has been axed from the United squad for the Chelsea fixture by Ten Hag due to his antics against Tottenham on Wednesday, where he left refused to come on and left the substitutes bench before full time.

Aveiro, Ronaldo's sister, wrote on Instagram: "No-one who was born to shine by the hands of God will be undone by someone who has never worn his shoes."

She also then went on to claim that Erik ten Hag and Manchester United fans are "nailing him (Ronaldo) to the cross" just like Jesus, and citied a bible verse alongside photos of herself and her brother.

"He is and will be history. There is a verse in the bible that says: 'This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge; and you, with the help of wicked men, put him to death by nailing him to the cross.'"

Aveiro then went on to call Ronaldo a warrior who "left home with tears and pain only his loved ones know" to "make a castle out of stones."

"He fulfilled the promise he made as a 13-year-old boy to his mum and siblings," she said. "This is the one whose accent was made fun of and was mocked over his alcoholic dad."

The Instagram post was then concluded by her insisting that she felt "privileged to have been born in the same family as this marvellous human being."

This post comes shortly after an older sister, Elma, sent Ten Hag a warning that "God never sleeps" and "Karma exists" after Ronaldo stormed down the Old Trafford tunnel on Wednesday.

“Cristiano does not need to prove anything," she said after the Tottenham victory.

“Who has to prove something still in football is Erik ten Hag and fulfil his word, that if you wanted Cristiano in the squad to use it and that you have respect for the career by not putting him in the humiliating defeat and for City.

"Next game against Chelsea let’s see what happens.”

Erik ten Hag was questioned on the decision to drop Ronaldo from the squad to face Chelsea, where he said in his press conference: “I am the manager. I am responsible for the culture. I have to set the standards and values.

“After Rayo Vallecano, I said (leaving early) was unacceptable. The second time there has to be consequences. Football is a team sport. You have to set certain standards, and I have to control it.”

However, Ten Hag also admitted that Cristiano Ronaldo will be a big miss for the game, and that he is still an integral member of the squad.

“We miss him tomorrow”, said Ten Hag on Friday. “It’s a miss, but it’s important for the attitude and mentality for the group and now we have to focus on Chelsea, that is important.”
