Manchester United predicted XI to face Tottenham: Scott McTominay returns as Erik ten Hag trusts Ronaldo

Full predicted Manchester United XI to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

Manchester United welcome Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Wednesday night at Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag will be looking for his side to bounce back after a disappointing goalless draw in their last outing against Newcastle United on Sunday.

With United playing three games in six days, Ten Hag could rotate his side more than usual for the clash against Spurs.

David de Gea has been an ever present in every game this season, and the Spaniard’s position in goal is almost guaranteed.

In Tuesday’s press conference, Ten Hag confirmed that Aaron Wan-Bissaka will return to training later this week but will not be available for Wednesday’s game meaning Diogo Dalot will keep his place in the side.

Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez have enjoyed a fruitful run in the team, with their record a positive one whilst playing together, so a return to the starting line-up for Victor Lindelof is not expected.

Lindelof filled in for Varane in the league game against Everton and the Europa League fixture in Cyprus against Omonia.

The left back spot has been one that Ten Hag has rotated throughout the early weeks of the season; however, Luke Shaw looks to have won his place back in the side, but a start for Tyrell Malacia would come as no surprise to anyone.

After settling in well after a few substitute appearances, Casemiro is one who should start the match against Spurs.

Bruno Fernandes is also another one very likely to be in the starting line-up, with fellow attacking midfielder Donny van de Beek another who will return to team training later this week.

The most notable change could be the box-to-box midfielder role.

Scott McTominay served a one-match suspension against Newcastle having already accumulated five yellow cards this season but is now available for selection.

With Fred having consecutive poor showings against Omonia and against Eddie Howe’s side, it’s highly unlikely the Brazil international starts.

McTominay could be the most likely option from the off, with Ten Hag confirming on Tuesday that Christian Eriksen will face a late fitness test.

Last Sunday, United looked toothless without the Dane’s creativity in midfield.

Up front, Antony and Cristiano Ronaldo are almost guaranteed to start, with the latter’s competition, Anthony Martial still not fit after picking up another injury in the game against Everton.

Marcus Rashford made an impact since coming on as a sub against the Magpies, so seeing the No. 10 replace Jadon Sancho could certainly happen.
