Manchester United target wants Old Trafford move, even after Ralf Rangnick advised against it

Manchester United target wants Old Trafford move, even after Ralf Rangnick advised against it

Manchester United target Sasa Kalajdzic wants to join the club while Erik ten Hag searches for an aerial attacking threat.

Manchester United have been targeting a striker all summer, lacking depth in the position at present with the Ronaldo situation further complicating things.

Now, one of their top targets in this position, reportedly feels as though a move to Old Trafford is a challenge that he is ready to take on.

Stuttgart and Croatia striker Sasa Kalajdzic impressed in the Bundesliga last season and put himself on the map as a backup striker option for Erik ten Hag.

Now, as reported by Sky Sports, a source close to the player claims he feels he is ready for the move to Manchester United.

Standing at six feet and seven inches, Kalajdzic certainly offers something that United’s other strikers don’t offer.

But even at his size, he is deceptively quick and possesses surprisingly very good technical ability which can help United.

Bar Ronaldo, the club also very much lacks a real aerial threat in attack, which his height alone instantly makes him.

All in all Kalajdzic is a very interesting and well rounded striker profile, and would probably not be too expensive for the club, allowing them to pursue other key targets.

Yesterday it also came out that the signing of Alvaro Morata is also a real possibility for United, another striker who possesses great technical ability.

This, along with Ten Hag’s faith in Anthony Martial, gives a clear image about the technical level the Dutchman demands of his strikers.

But depth is required, and Kalajdzic is a player who the club seem to believe can provide this. He can also offer a great plan B option off the bench, similar to how Marouane Fellaini used to.

In his last two league campaigns, the Croatian has scored 22 and assisted 6 goals in 36 starts for Stuttgart, an impressive return.

Aged only 25 too, he still has time to further improve under the watchful eye of a manager like Erik ten Hag.

However, according to Sky Germany, via GGFN, that former interim manager Ralf Rangnick has suggested that the striker should avoid Manchester United.

Cristiano Ronaldo turns 38-years-old this season and realistically cannot play more than once a week for United.

Anthony Martial had an impressive pre-season but can be injury prone, and whether he maintains this form across the season is a gamble.

A fairly low risk yet potentially highly rewarding signing, Kalajdzic is a player who it would make sense for United to go for.

With this signing, the Red Devils would have sufficient depth and quality in what is going to be the busiest footballing season of all time.
