Five Complete Strangers Have Learned The Rock Is Their Half-Brother

Five Complete Strangers Have Learned The Rock Is Their Half-Brother

Five half-siblings came together after finding out their lineage.

Five complete strangers have found out they are related - and WWE legend and actor Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is their half-brother.

Lisa Purves, Paula Parsons, Trevor Edwards, Adrian Bowles and Aaron Fowler were all fathered by Rocky Johnson and came together to track down their lineage.

None of them had a relationship with Johnson before his death in 2020 but a few attempted to reach out. Lisa tried three times, but Johnson hung up during the final attempt.

The WWE Hall of Famer had son and daughter Curtis and Wanda with his first wife Una, before going on to have Dwayne with Ata Maivia.

Speaking to Sports Illustrated, the quintet discussed their growing family bond and how important uncle Ricky Johnson was.

Lisa is a filmmaker and is keen to produce a documentary about parents who cut contact with their children on purpose.

"I never wanted to run into Dwayne and have anyone know I was his bastard sister," she admitted, while stressing how lucky The Rock was to grow up with a father.

Paula would go on to add: "We just want to be recognised. We sat on the back burner forever. [Rocky] was our dad just as well as Dwayne’s."

Trevor was the one who tracked down Ricky in 2017, after being told he had a resemblance of Dwayne for years.

Ricky agreed to a DNA test and it confirmed him as the uncle. In a lovely gesture, he 'welcomed him to the family' with open arms.

Aaron was similarly told he looked like Dwayne and took a DNA test in 2020. That brought up a match with Adrian and Lisa as half-siblings which started the hunt.

Ricky was once again an important part of the story and replied to Lisa 'right away'.

She explained: "He reached out right away, and we talked and I cried, and he cried. And then he told me about Paula, Trevor and Adrian.

"So I reached out to all three of them. This all happened in one day. I was so excited – what a day!"

Paula stressed that none of this is an attempt to guilt Dwayne - who is one of the biggest stars in Hollywood.

They do not want 'anything' from the 50-year-old and simply want to be identified as the children of Rocky.
