WWE great The Rock has sent out a heartfelt message to the Royal Family and the United Kingdom in the wake of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing.
Tributes have been pouring out across every corner of the planet as the world comes to terms with the death of the queen marking the end of her 70-year reign.
Dwayne Johnson took to social media to send out his condolences while also sharing an incredibly touching message about living with passion and positive energy.
The Rock said: “Well it has been one hell of a Thursday so far, certainly for my family. From the moment we woke up this morning, it’s just been one of those days.
“But I’m just swooping in really quickly to stop in and send my love, and my condolences, my light, strength, and mana to The Royal Family during this time in the spirit of the passing of The Queen.”
The Hollywood actor’s own father, legendary wrestler Rocky Johnson, passed away in 2020.
The Rock used the opportunity to send out his own incredibly important lesson that he came to realise in the wake of his father’s death.
He continued: “And I got to tell you, not that this is any consolation in any way, I’m just sharing just a perspective that I have, is that when I lost my old man two years ago right before the pandemic hit us, and my old man, he dropped and he passed away, and I never had a chance to say goodbye to him. And I regret that.
“But the way I look at death these days is that it informs us on how we should live moving forward.
“Because in their spirit we have an opportunity to live, and live life, and live greatly, with passion, and fervour, and positive energy, and with all we got. With all we got.
“So, I’m sending a lot of love, and stay strong, and now let’s live as greatly as we can. And what a life! Stay strong.”
Later in the day, The Rock had the task of firing up the NFL crowd for the season opener between the Rams and Bills.
Just as he did at the Super Bowl he gave a Hall of Fame-worthy promo just as he has done millions… and millions, of times before in the WWE.
"Super Bowl Champions, Los Angeles Rams. Get out of your seats, stomp your feet, it's time to rampede," he said.
Unfortunately for the Rams, the electrifying promo didn’t do the job as it did in the Super Bowl, as the Los Angeles side fell to Buffalo 31-10.
