Vince McMahon Set To Return To The Ring For Shock WrestleMania Match Aged 76

Vince McMahon Set To Return To The Ring For Shock WrestleMania Match Aged 76

WWE chairman Vince McMahon is set to return to the ring at WrestleMania 38 in April.

WWE chairman Vince McMahon is set to return to the ring at WrestleMania 38 aged 76, according to sensational reports.

The show of shows takes place at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas in April and WWE regularly pulls out all the stops for the biggest event in the wrestling calendar.

And according to POST Wrestling, McMahon himself is to compete on this year's WrestleMania card - marking a first in-ring appearance in nearly a decade.

The wrestling news outlet claims the two-time world champion is to face former NFL star Pat McAfee inside the squared circle.

"POST Wrestling can confirm that Vince McMahon is expected to launch a program with Pat McAfee, which will include WrestleMania 38," the story on the website reads.

"When speaking with a source with knowledge of the situation and whether it will be billed as an official match on the WrestleMania card, we were told 'most likely'."

McAfee, who had an eight-year career in the NFL and was a punter with the Indianapolis Colts, is a colour commentator on the Smackdown brand.

He also has a popular podcast called 'The Pat McAfee Show' and McMahon will be a special guest on the show on Thursday March 3.

It appears this appearance from the WWE head honcho will kick off the feud between the pair.

Previously, McAfee began a program with former NXT champion Adam Cole on an episode of the podcast and went on to make his in-ring debut at Takeover XX.

McMahon has not had a WrestleMania bout since his street fight with Bret 'The Hitman' Hart in 2010 but seeing him swaggering his way down the ramp for a match will be a sight to behold.

Similarly, it's been reported that WWE legend and McMahon's long-time nemesis Stone Cold Steve Austin is making an incredible comeback for a match in his home state.

The Texas Rattlesnake, now 57, retired in 2003 due to persistent neck injuries.
