Former WWE star Dave Bautista rejected big money role in Fast and Furious franchise

Former WWE star Dave Bautista rejected big money role in Fast and Furious franchise

The former WWE wrestler has said no to Fast and Furious

Former professional wrestler Dave Bautista once rejected the chance to be involved in the popular Fast and Furious movie franchise.

After retiring from wrestling, Bautista moved into the Hollywood world and is now a well-known actor.

On the back of finishing filming for the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, Bautista was unable to celebrate with the rest of the cast as he had to fly off to his next job.

Out of all of the former WWE stars that gave acting a shot, Bautista is often regarded as the most talented of the lot.

It has now been revealed that he turned down an offer to become a member of the Fast and Furious movies.

Bautista told Collider: “I don’t mean to offend anybody. I’m not putting down anything else, I’m just saying [Gears] is way more interesting to me.

“I don't want to pretend like I'm actually interested in something I'm not when there’s something I'm actually really excited about that you guys have under control. Would you consider me for that?

“I don't think there’s any harm in that. I’m not trying to step on anybody else’s toes, I’m just saying like this is what I love and I’m seriously passionate about this. I can do a good job for you guys on this.”

Bautista also previously spoke about taking on acting advice from Stone Cold Steve Austin, who is the long-term rival of fellow WWE superstar Dwayne Johnson.

The 54-year-old stated that he was warned that he was ‘going to get offers for horrible scripts’ and ’the money will be tempting’, whilst being told not to get ‘caught in that trap’.

It seems that Bautista had taken on Austin’s advice as he has said in the pass that he was ‘picky and choosy’ when it came to accepting roles in movies, even when he was in need of some money after his retirement from WWE.
