WWE Smackdown Women's Champion Becky Lynch: 'Having A Baby Will Light A Fire Under Ronda Rousey's Ass'

WWE Smackdown Women's Champion Becky Lynch: 'Having A Baby Will Light A Fire Under Ronda Rousey's Ass'

Becky Lynch recently had a baby and returned to WWE and she thinks Ronda Rousey might just follow suit.

WWE Smackdown women's champion Becky Lynch believes Ronda Rousey having a baby will "light a fire under her ass".

'Rowdy' has not been seen on WWE television since she was pinned by Lynch in the main event of WrestleMania 35.

'The Man' captured both women's championships as a result and embarked on a record-breaking one-year reign as Raw women's champion.

The Irish grappler never lost the belt and instead gave it up to Asuka when she announced she was pregnant.

Lynch gave birth to daughter Roux in December 2020 but fast forward to August 2021 and she was back inside the squared circle, shocking Bianca Belair in 26 seconds at SummerSlam to become champion once again.

Rousey too is expecting a child and Lynch reckons the former UFC star might just want to follow in her footsteps in returning to WWE.

"She’s probably having her baby any day now, right? We’ll see," Lynch told SPORTbible.

"I know she’s ambitious and so I think having this baby is going to light a fire under her ass.

“She’s seen what I can accomplish straight off and she might come searching.”

In total, Lynch had 15 months away from WWE and tied the knot with fellow superstar Seth Rollins along with becoming a mother.

With the nights sleepless, was Lynch able to reflect on her incredible achievements in WWE?

She added: “Goals are interesting right because you think, ‘When I get there it’ll be this’ but when you get there it’s just the same. It’s what’s next, how do I get to the next thing?

“And you just realise it’s all about the journey. While I was out, I was just thinking, ‘What’s next?’

“It’s probably a real bad way to live but it keeps you going. You’re not appreciating what you’ve done, you’re looking at the next thing.

“It keeps you hungry and keeps you motivated. That’s how I felt.”

There was one moment in particular where Lynch's stock rose to a whole new level. During an invasion of Raw in November 2018, she had her face broken by Nia Jax on Raw and was forced to miss her one-on-one bout with Rousey at Survivor Series.

But it proved to be the making of her. With blood all over her face as she stood in the stands, Lynch looked like a badass.

Without that injury and sensational visual, the journey might have been a little different.

Lynch admitted: "I think that in retrospect, I need to buy Nia Jax a bouquet of flowers because I think without that image, you know, myself covered in blood on top of the stands with my arms out, like my career, it may not have gotten to the place that it's gotten now, you know?

"So yeah, one hundred per cent it was a blessing in disguise.

“I don't know what would have happened otherwise. We would have had our match; I probably would have won. Who knows? Who knows what would have happened?

“It's so hard to tell, but I am very grateful for everything that happened along the way.”
