Logan Paul has his eyes on another WWE star after Rey Mysterio call-out

Logan Paul has his eyes on another WWE star after Rey Mysterio call-out

Logan Paul called out Rey Mysterio after his win over Dillon Danis, but he has his eyes fixed on another star.

Logan Paul has his eyes on another WWE star after calling out Rey Mysterio on Saturday night.

Paul returned to the boxing ring by beating bitter rival Dillon Danis by disqualification in the co-main event on the Misfits Boxing Prime Card in Manchester.

'The Maverick' dominated the fight, which was judged a DQ after Danis attempted a guillotine choke in the sixth round - sparking a wild melee in the ring.

Afterwards, Paul laid into Danis and branded him a "dirty human being".

But he also hinted at what may next on the horizon for him as he called out WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio.

Signed to WWE on a lucrative contract, Paul is pursuing a first title in the company and wants a shot at the United States championship held by the legendary masked wrestler - who welcomed his challenge.

"As you all know, I am a WWE Superstar, so I am going to be back in the WWE," he told Ariel Helwani live on DAZN.

''There are some championships I want and I have my eye on something and my eye on someone. I am an American boy, [and I want the] US title. Rey Mysterio, I already beat you once and I want that championship. Let's go.''

Paul teamed with The Miz to faced Mysterio and his son Dominik in his stunning debut at WrestleMania 38.

He's since had a further six matches at various high-profile WWE events.

His biggest was a main event for the undisputed WWE universal championship against the dominant Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.

It was just his third bout in the squared circle and though he lost out and suffered a brutal knee injury, the 28-year-old made a huge impression.

And he wants a second bite of the cherry against Reigns, who is still at the very top in WWE.

“I was really enthusiastic to come into my own as a wrestler, so I really overprepared for that match,” Paul told Sports Illustrated on his "proudest performance".

“It paid off. I pray that it’s going to age nicely, and maybe Roman and I can run it back. He’s so, so good.”

Paul is expected to face Mysterio at the next Crown Jewel event on 4 November.
