Ric Flair offers to 'walk away' from AEW after controversial line which is 'set to be removed from broadcast'

Ric Flair has offered to "walk away" from AEW following outrage over comments he made in his latest appearance for the promotion.

The 74-year-old had his final match in 2022 but recently signed a multi-year deal with All Elite Wrestling, debuting as a gift to long-time friend and rival Sting from co-founder Tony Khan.

Flair, who passed out twice in his last match, has not been wrestling but caused an almighty stir with his promo at the most recent taping.

The two-time WWE Hall of Famer was in the ring in a taping for AEW Rampage and addressing the crowd and fans at home.

Yet, according to Wrestling.inc, the 16-time world champion courted controversy after inviting all the 18 to 28-year-old women in attendance into his hotel room.

Flair is said to have finished the line by stressing there be "no boyfriends or husbands.”

The comment should come as no surprise given Flair's claims he has slept with over 10,000 women and the fact he has said similar over the years.

The broadcast was not live, meaning the line is likely to be edited out in time for Friday's show on TBS.

Flair's comments have received plenty of negative reactions online, causing him to address the "hatred" on social media.

He even went as far saying he would be happy to exit AEW if Khan believed he was "embarrassing" the brand.

"I am so tired of hearing all this negativity! Can't I simply enjoy being by my dear friend Sting's side for the next few months without so much hatred? I know I'm old, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy life," he wrote.

"I have earned the right to do whatever I want and I'm exactly where I want to be! I appreciate everything Tony Khan, but I'm more than willing to walk away if I am embarrassing you and your company."

Flair received support from a slew of wrestling legends, including Stone Cold Steve Austin, who commented: "Ric, I enjoy watching you do all the things you do. And you’re always having fun. Keep doing you. And that’s the bottom line."
