Charlotte Flair has the wonderful opportunity of defending her Smackdown women's title in one-on-one action when Wrestlemania 34 rolls around on 8 April at the Mercedes-Benz superdome.

The 31-year old, daughter of two-time Hall of Famer Ric, made her Wrestlemania debut as part of Triple H's Wrestlemania 30 entrance in New Orleans alongside Alexa Bliss and Sasha Banks, before being crowned the new WWE women's champion two years later on the show of shows.

After competing in a fatal-four way women's match for the Raw women's title in which Bayley emerged victorious last year, she now takes on the undefeated Asuka, winner of the Royal Rumble, in the same venue where she got a taste of being part of Wrestlemania four years back.

"It's crazy because I can remember being on stage for Triple H's entrance and being so nervous and so overwhelmed," the WWE star told SPORTbible.

"With the sea of people, [I was thinking], 'how do they do this?' - I just couldn't grasp that at that time.

"Knowing now that I'm heading into the same place as the champion in the biggest match of my career vs someone with a streak, and having been there [New Orleans] and watched the Undertaker's streak be broken, it's crazy how life comes full circle and it just goes to show that anything can happen."

As ever, it's another stacked card from WWE, with no less than NINE championship matches in addition to the in-return of the beloved Daniel Bryan, and Ronda Rousey's first ever match.

But Charlotte remains confident that her contest will be the one everyone is talking about when it's all said and done.

"I think there are a lot of great matches but the fact that Asuka and I have never touched, we have never been in the ring together, and what she represents - her entrance, her style and her own Japanese legacy vs my legacy - even saying 'The Queen vs The Empress', it's very exciting.

"I have goosebumps sitting here thinking about it. I want it to be the match of my career; that's how important this night is to me."

Charlotte has been very vocal about getting in the ring for a big-money match with Rousey at some point, and though they are on different brands, her interest remains.

"I would love the opportunity," she added.

"It's exciting that there are so many eyes on the women's division at the moment with her contribution and I would love to square off with her."
