Paul "Triple H" Levesque believes we are closer to getting a WWE world champion from the United Kingdom but says it's a case of number of factors coming together.

The sports entertainment juggernaut have just announced the launch of a NXT UK brand, following two incredible nights of action in the WWE United Kingdom championship tournament event at the legendary Royal Albert Hall.

WWE are placing a serious emphasis on the hot UK scene and there is a stacked roster of incredible talents from these shores in the company's ranks.

But the question on the lips of a good portion of fans is when will there be a world champion from this region.

"I think it's just a matter of having the right person at the right time but having more than one person on the roster certainly does increase the chances of that happening," Levesque responded when asked by SPORTbible ahead of night two at the Royal Albert Hall.

"I actually think it's just a matter of time. We just look for who we feel is the biggest drawing person out there, it's all about the moment or multiple moments. It's about the overall picture of who's the biggest attraction at that time. But I think it's definitely a possibility."

The likes of Pete Dunne and Drew Galloway would appear to be in the best position to win the big one at present, after legends such as William Regal and the British Bulldog failed to do so.

Yet for Levesque, WWE's Executive Vice President, Talent, Live Events & Creative, his focus on opportunities for athletes all around the globe, not just in the United Kingdom.

"Shawn [Michaels] was talking about it earlier, when we got into the business it was really difficult to find a way into the business - nobody wanted to give you that route and nobody wanted to share information," he declared.

"You had to stumble upon something through a lot of digging, scratching and clawing to find it. But I never understood why it was that way.

"One of my goals in taking over all this was to create pathways for people all around the world that want to do this and share a passion for entertaining like we do - whether they are in the UK, Japan, South America, the Middle East, India or any place, if you have a passion to do this let's create a pathway.

"Not everybody's going to make it but it's certainly going to increase that pool; certainly going to increase the level of athletes that get here and we see that around the world now with athletes wanting to be involved and coming aboard.

"In ten years from now it's going to change - the landscape of the athletes that are doing this will be the best of the best but it will be from around the globe, not just one from region."
