Daniel Cormier called for Cain Velasquez to beat Brock Lesnar's "f*****g a**e again" when he made a stunning appearance on WWE's SmackDown on Friday.

Lesnar captured the WWE championship from Kofi Kingston in a matter of seconds on SmackDown's inaugural show on Fox.

But former two-time UFC heavyweight champion Velasquez was accompanied down to the ring by Rey Mysterio and launched an all-out attack on the newly crowned WWE champ.

'DC,' 40, had a heated rivalry with Lesnar and made two separate posts on Instagram Stories as he screamed in excitement about Velasquez's WWE debut.

He said: "F**k yeah, baby.

"Beat his f*****g a**e again. Oh my goodness.

"This is crazy. This is so crazy.

"That didn't take long. Go back, Brock. Go get some.

"Go get you some of that, Brock."

Velasquez, who has competed for Mexican promotion AAA, secured a sensational first-round victory over Lesnar in 2010 to strip him of the UFC heavyweight championship.

According to reports, WWE is planning for Velasquez to clash with Lesnar at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia later this month.

ESPN reports that the American has not officially signed with the wrestling promotion and is still in talks over a contract.

"We've talked a little bit back and forth and nothing happened," he said.

"They wanted to see my development. I think they're pleased with what I'm doing now."

Meanwhile, Cormier has been out of the octagon since his stunning defeat to Stipe Miocic at UFC 241.

The former UFC heavyweight champ has ruled out a third match with fierce rival Jon Jones in favour of completing a trilogy of fights with Miocic.
