Vince McMahon Receives Spine-Tingling Ovation From Returning WWE Fans, Shouts 'Where The Hell Have You Been?'

Vince McMahon kicked off WWE's episode of Smackdown and kept it short and sweet.

Vince McMahon received a thunderous ovation from the returning WWE fans last night and shouted, "Where the hell have you been?".

For the first time since March 2020, WWE had one of their live TV shows in front of a full house at Houston's Toyota Center.

The sports entertainment juggernaut were able to have reduced capacity for Wrestlemania in Orlando earlier this year but last night's episode of Smackdown, with 15,000 fans packed into the stands, was a truly historic moment.

It was only right that the chairman of the board kicked off the show and the moment his theme song hit, the arena absolutely erupted.

After fans sang 'No Chance In Hell', the 75-year-old delivered a single killer line before letting the in-ring action get under way.

Given 'Vinny Mac' is very rarely on screen TV these days, it was the perfect way to bring fans back into the fold following a series of behind-closed-doors shows.

Instead of taking an extended break during the pandemic, WWE introduced the 'Thunderdome' - essentially large LED screens so that fans could be in attendance in a virtual capacity.

But hearing natural noise, as opposed to hearing fake crowd chants, was just sensational.

When WWE Hall of Famer Edge made his entrance, the place went absolutely mental and it was quite clear to see the Rated-R superstar fed off the energy.

WWE's Money in the Bank pay-per-view on Sunday will be the first on a 25-city tour as the company return to a live touring schedule.

The superstars are slated to come back to the United Kingdom in September for a series of shows.
