Matt Riddle might be the coolest man in sports entertainment but the WWE NXT superstar is very serious when he talks about Goldberg and how the former Universal champion is 'full of it.'

Riddle might not yet be on the main roster but he's certainly made an impact in his 13 months on NXT and even ruffled some feathers by calling out legends Brock Lesnar and Goldberg out on social media.

On Saturday Goldberg was asked about former UFC star Riddle but the former WCW star dismissed the younger man by telling Eyes on the Game's Helen Lee 'Matt who? I don't even know who that is. I don't answer questions about people who haven't made it yet.'

The next day Riddle fought at PROGRESS Wrestling's 'Still Chasing' at Alexandra Palace in London and spoke exclusively to SPORTbible about Goldberg's views saying, "Well I mean he's full of it because he knows who I am. I mean I saw him at Summerslam, we talked multiple times, almost got into an altercation.

"That's his way of deflecting. I don't think he wants to deal with me. That's his way of dealing with it. I think he knows he's in over his head.

"Like I said it's his way of defending himself. When we talked I basically said he couldn't wrestle, he said I was being disrespectful, and I told him I wasn't because I was telling the truth. The way I look at it, if you tell the truth then it's not being disrespectful. I look at it like that, we agreed to disagree and that's where we ended.

"I think him responding the way he is, he knows I have hype and he doesn't want to feed into it."

Goldberg's last appearance for WWE was against Dolph Ziggler at Summerslam in August, with the 52-year-old victorious in one minute and 52 seconds.

Despite claiming he didn't know who Riddle was the WWE Hall of Famer said the NXT star had 'a long way to go,' but 'the Bro' certainly doesn't think he does if it's in terms of beating his rival, adding, "If we're comparing me to Goldberg then I don't have any more to do.

"But for me, I'm always changing, always trying to get better, I'm trying to improve. Not just in the ring but as a person, everything. I think a lot of people put that to the side but you should always struggle, if you're not struggling it's like not even worth your while."

It seems inevitable that these two will eventually get in the ring together at some point and it's bound to be explosive.

Considering the run Riddle's been on since entering the NXT Universe it might well be Goldberg who is next.
