Mike Tyson Has Responded After His Awkward Live TV Interview Went Viral

Tyson's appearance on Good Morning Britain didn't exactly go to plan and he has since apologised to co-hosts Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid.

Mike Tyson has issued an apology to Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid after his live television interview went rather pear-shaped.

The 54-year-old appeared on Good Morning Britain to promote his upcoming exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jnr in November, but things didn't exactly go to plan for the 'Baddest Man on the Planet'.

Boxing royalty Tyson left viewers scratching their hands after slurring his words for the entire segment.

His dazed look and overall lack of enthusiasm even had some fans concerned for his health.

When asked by co-hosts Morgan and Reid about the preparations for his long-awaited return to the ring, 'Iron Mike' simply said: "Pretty much, I am just ready to do this, I feel really good, I am ready to do this."

Upon seeing the bizarre interview, fans flocked to social media to share their concerns.

But it appears Tyson has now put those worried viewers at ease after issuing an official apology via Twitter explaining his reasons for looking (and sounding) so drowsy.

He tweeted: "Hey mate @piersmorgan @GMB @susannareid100 and UK. I tried to stay up late for interview but fell asleep and like a lion I'm hard to wake once asleep. Training hard and going to bed early. I had no monitor so I couldn't see you guys and forgot to look into camera."

It's no secret that Tyson has been training like an absolute wild man ahead of his comeback fight (just go and check out his Instagram if you need concrete proof).

From 4am wake-ups to constant work in the gym, the former heavyweight champ's intense training regime has seen him transform into the physical presence he once was.

But while his strenuous training regime undoubtedly contributed to his tiredness ahead of his Good Morning Britain interview, one eagle-eyed supporter came up with another pretty good theory as to why Tyson was struggling to keep his eyes open.

The fan tweeted: "Everyone concerned about Mike Tyson, he's more than ok. He owns a 420-acre weed farm. Yes, 420. He sells half a million dollars worth a month and he says he smokes $30k a month. It's best to interview him early in his day."

Fair enough. Definitely fair enough.
