Ex-Olympic swimmer Scott Miller has been arrested by Australian Federal Police in a drug sting estimated to be worth around $2million.
It's understood Miller was involved in the supply of large amounts of methamphetamine otherwise known as 'ice' with reports suggesting the 45-year-old and his co-accused were actually concealing the drug inside candles.
Miller is well known among us Aussies having won a silver medal for the 100 metre butterfly at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, narrowly missing out on gold to Russian legend Denis Pankratov.
The New South Wales Crime Commission and detectives from the State Crime Command's Drug and Firearms Squad launched a formal investigation in early 2021 after the drugs and cash were intercepted by police.

From there they eventually executed search warrants on Miller's Rozelle house and his co-accused's property in Balmain.
They also searched a local business in Bankstown.
Once the raids were complete, the two men were taken to Newtown Police Station where Miller was charged with "directing a criminal syndicate" as well as "supplying large commercial quantities of prohibited drugs".
Speaking in a press conference on Tuesday morning, detective superintendent John Watson described Miller's alleged role as "the head of the syndicate" who was "calling the shots".

Watson also added that the drugs were distributed from Sydney but were bound for regional New South Wales, more specifically Albury which borders the state of Victoria.
"They were concealing the drugs in candles," he told the media.
"The drugs that were have seized, for all intents and purposes, were everyday candles. However, they weren't laced with any fragrance, they were laced with half a kilo of methamphetamine in each candle and there was eight candles (in total).
"The ice was of very high purity inside the candles.

"These candles looked like normal candles, however, they were laced with death and misery."
