Aussie Paralympian Vanessa Low Shatters THREE World Records In Just One Hour

Vanessa Low has smashed her own world record, not once, not twice, but three times to clinch Paralympic gold in Tokyo.

Having already secured her winner's medal in the women's Class 63 long-jump event, the German-born Aussie decided it was time carve her name in the history books once more by setting yet another world record with her remaining jumps.

She had already broken her own record earlier in the night, but she knew - deep down - they she could go one better.

In her final attempt of the night, Low jumped a remarkable distance of 5.28m.

5.16m, easy work.

5.20m, surely not.

5.28m, wow.

Incredibly, that last jump was actually 14cm further than the next-best competitor, silver medallist Martina Caironi.

All up, she actually broke the record on three seperate occasions all within the space of an hour.

And if her achievement wasn't already impressive enough, it turns out she was also suffering from ongoing concussion symptoms throughout the Games after a heavy fall back home on Australian shores.

"This is a very special one," Low told Channel 7 after the event.

"I know Rio was my first gold but being able to do this experience alongside my husband and being able to do it on the day with Scott (Reardon) by my side, having a familiar face in the crowd, was so special and I am so very grateful for this opportunity.

"When we first met each other, we immediately had an emotional connection - that's something very rare to find. We really support each other, the bad and the good.

"Having him by my side and having the ability to feed off each other's energy, it's so amazing - I wouldn't be here without him."

Low, who is a double amputee after being hit by a train when she was younger, used to compete for Germany.

She actually won her first Paralympic gold medal for the country at the Rio Games in 2016.

But the 31-year-old has since swapped the black and white colours of Germany for the green and gold of Australia, becoming an Aussie citizen through her marriage with fellow Paralympian Scott Reardon.

Scott was trackside to watch his wife make history by joining an elite club of athletes to have won Paralympic gold for two different nations.

"To see Vanessa out there in the green and gold was pretty special and to pull it together when it matters on the world stage is awesome," Reardon told The Herald.

"I'm a mess. I've never cried this much. It's so special. I don't have words."
