Paul Pogba has revealed his choice as the two best finishers at Manchester United - and it's neither of the club's two top scorers this season.

The French midfielder also revealed the toughest opponent he's ever played against, as well as his pick in the eternal Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo debate. However it's his views on the best goalscorers at the club that might get Man United fans talking.

In a Q&A in the matchday programme, Pogba revealed that teenager Mason Greenwood and Uruguay international Edinson Cavani are the best finishers at the club.

Pogba originally joked that Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw were his picks (after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently praised Shaw's finishing), but then delivered his true answer.

"The best finisher, I think it's Mason," Pogba told the programme, per the Sun. "Yeah, Mason, I would say.

"And Edi. Yeah, Mason with the feet and Edi with his head."

The club's top scorers this season are actually Bruno Fernandes (26) and Marcus Rashford (20), though Fernandes is helped by being on penalty duty.

Cavani has 12 goals - but in far fewer games and the 34-year-old marksman does boast the best scoring rate at the club this season (147 minutes per goal).

Greenwood has only 10 goals in all competitions after a slow start to the season but the 19-year-old is finding his scoring touch and is reckoned by many - including Solskjaer - as the best natural finisher at the club.

Also asked who the best players he's faced in the Q&A, Pogba named two defensive midfielders: Chelsea's N'Golo Kante and Real Madrid's Brazilian international Casemiro.

"My toughest opponent on the pitch? To be honest, it's tough against N'Golo Kante. Casemiro too, he is a hard one also," explained Pogba, who played alongside Kante in the France side that won the 2018 World Cup.

Lastly, the 28-year-old former Juventus midfielder was asked to chose between Messi and Ronaldo - but was suitably full of praise for both modern greats.

"It's a nice but tricky question, as there is no best for me, he replied diplomatically. "Two different players.

"They are two players who both bring joy to watch. Any people are going to have their own opinion of them, just two legends.

"Me, I would just say they are two legends and not one is better than the other one.

"Just two people that give us football players, or football lovers, joy to watch."
