A former Bayern Munich player had his payslip reportedly leaked online.

A Bayern Munich player’s payslip was once leaked to the public after it was stolen from his car.

It is well documented that footballers of the modern game earn a ridiculous amount of money.

The top players, such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland will take home millions per year.

During last summer’s transfer window, clubs in the Saudi Professional League have been using their huge financial power to lure some of Europe’s biggest names to their country.

Back in 2016, then Bayern star Mehdi Benatia’s payslip was leaked online.

According to German news outlet Bild, police were attempting to track down the person responsible for the leak after it was reportedly stolen from his car.

The leaked picture showed that the defender was being paid £88,000 per week, which equates to £4.6 million a year.

Benatia first joined Bayern from Italian Serie A side Roma back in 2014 for a reported fee of £20 million.

After making 46 appearances for the Bavaria side, Benatia left Germany for Italy as he signed for Juventus.

During his time in Turin, the Moroccan played 59 times, scoring five goals.

Benatia then moved to Qatari club Al Duhail before playing for Turkish Super Lig side Fatih Karagumruk.

Former Spain and Barcelona defender Gerard Pique once shared his wages on social media after reports claimed he was earning a whopping £450,000 per week at Barcelona.

Pique, who is now retired, shared his payslip to show half of his annual pay, which was £2 million.

As a result, Pique roughly made £4 million in 2021, which is around £75,000 per week.

Writing on social media, Pique took aim at Spanish journalist Lluis Canut, who was claiming he was earning a massive £450,000 per week.

He wrote: “Characters like this charging public television to defend their friends. Here is 50% of my payroll collected on December 30th. Have some respect for yourself.”
