Jurgen Klopp gives triple injury boost ahead of Man Utd clash, it's just what Liverpool fans wanted to hear

Jurgen Klopp gives triple injury boost ahead of Man Utd clash, it's just what Liverpool fans wanted to hear

Liverpool travel to Man Utd on Sunday.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has delivered a triple injury update ahead of his side's FA Cup quarter-final showdown with Manchester United.

The Reds have been hampered by injuries in recent months, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson, Diogo Jota and Ryan Gravenberch all spending time on the sidelines.

Erik ten Hag and United have also suffered similar problems, with Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and Mason Mount all out of action.

The tie against their fierce rivals presents another chance for Liverpool to take one step further towards a potential quadruple this season, the German has been boosted by the return of three key players.

"Curtis [has a chance after the international break] then Diogo and Trent the week after, they have a chance,” Klopp said on Friday.

Midfielder Ryan Gravenberch trained this week and is available for selection and Klopp also provided an update on Spanish midfielder Stefan Bajcetic, who has been sidelined with a long-term problem:

“He feels something but it's not injuries, it's intensity.

"We don't want to use him before he's really ready. His body was not really ready for the intensity.

"He is in a much better place now but we have to wait. [He will be] part of team training after the international break."

Liverpool's last visit to the Theatre of Dreams brought a 2-1 defeat back in August 2022, as both Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford scored to hand Ten Hag a first win as United boss.

The Dutchman has recently insisted his players will also have to show the same level of desire in order to progress to the semi-finals of the competition.

"We're really looking forward to that game," he said.

"There are always huge fixtures [between] Manchester United [and] Liverpool and the players, they want to play such games because they get challenged.

"We know that it's a strong side, but yeah, as I say, the challenge is there and we want to play our football. We want to show that we can beat them."
