The PFA 'have made contact with Man Utd' about Jadon Sancho, it's getting really ugly

The latest development in the Sancho saga.

The Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) has contacted Manchester United over the ongoing Jadon Sancho saga, according to a new report.

Sancho has not played for United since August 26, the week before he was left out of the matchday squad for the 3-1 defeat to Arsenal.

Manager Erik ten Hag explained after the match that the 23-year-old was excluded due to sub-par training performances, something Sancho disputed on social media.

It was reported that Ten Hag wanted Sancho to apologise to him, but that has not happened and the winger has since been 'exiled' from using first team facilities, as per the Daily Mirror.

United have confirmed that the England international is working on a personal training programme away from the rest of the squad.

According to The Times, the PFA - the union that represents footballers - is now involved, and has contacted both United and Sancho in an attempt to assist the player and Ten Hag with solving their differences.

Ten Hag reiterated in his pre-match press conference ahead of last Saturday's win over Burnley that Sancho's return was up to the 23-year-old himself, and he appears unlikely to be involved in Tuesday's Carabao Cup clash with Crystal Palace.

In his first comments after Sancho's public statement, ahead of the 3-1 defeat to Brighton, Ten Hag refused to address the winger by name, but did make a general comment on United's culture prior to the Dutchman's arrival.

He stated: "The club asked me, because there was a no-good culture before last season, to set some standards. That's what I did. It's my job to control the standards."

Sancho received interest from Saudi Arabian clubs prior to their transfer window closing earlier this month, but a move failed to materialise and he will be staying at United until at least January.

According to the Daily Mirror, a return to former club Borussia Dortmund is off the table, with the German giants not said to be actively pursuing his signature ahead of the upcoming window.
