Man Utd fans want Kobbie Mainoo in the first-team after masterclass vs Leeds, he could save them millions

He has caught the eye of supporters.

Manchester United fans are convinced they don't need new midfielder after watching Kobbie Mainoo's performance against Leeds United.

The Red Devils are currently taking on the newly relegated side in their opening pre-season friendly in Oslo, Norway.

It is Mason Mount's first outing as a United player following his £55m move from Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Lisandro Martinez also returned to the team after recovering from his fractured metatarsal that ruled him out of the final months of last season.

However, it is Mainoo who has really caught the eye, with fans believing he can play a big part this season and that there is no need for a new midfielder such as Sofyan Amrabat, who has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks.

Running to Twitter to heap praise on the 18-year-old midfielder, one fan wrote: "Forget Amrabat, Kobbie Mainoo is HERE."

"Forget Amrabat, Kobbie Mainoo is HERE," another said

"Mainoo absolutely can't leave on loan. Let Casemiro mentor this kid please I beg you," a third added.

"Mainoo looking comfortable out there. He actually gets some proper mind this season rather than running Casemiro into the ground again," a fourth wrote.

"I don’t like to exaggerate but Kobbie Mainoo is the best player I’ve ever seen," another said.

Clips of the midfielder effortlessly gliding past Fred at training recently circulated on social media, with supporters believing they have a real gem on their hands.

The Stockport-born player has been on United's books sine the age of nine, making his debut for United against Charlton Athletic in the 3-0 Carabao Cup win in January.

He then came off the bench in the FA Cup victory over Reading, before making his Premier League debut as a substitute against Leicester City in February, later putting pen to paper on a long-term deal.
