Man United fans slam Scott McTominay's performance against West Ham United

Man United fans slam Scott McTominay's performance against West Ham United

Manchester United lost 2-0 against West Ham United.

Manchester United fans took aim at Scott McTominay following their crushing 2-0 defeat against West Ham United on Saturday.

After earning a hard-fought point against Liverpool last week, Man United failed to build on their performance at Anfield as they succumbed to David Moyes' side.

The Hammers ran out 2-0 winners after producing a dominant second-half display as Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus got on the score-sheet.

Bowen opened the scoring in the 72nd minute after Lucas Paqueta's stunning pass. The Brazilian also created his team's second goal after Kudus pounced on Kobbie Mainoo's mistake before playing a one-two with his teammate.

The Red Devils had chances in the first-half as Alejandro Garnacho had two openings on the left wing but was unable to make anything of it.

On social media, Man United fans lamented their midfield at the London Stadium as they made their feelings clear towards McTominay.

Even though he has five league goals to his name this season, supporters are growing increasingly frustrated with the Scotland international.

Man United fan Adam McKola said: "Play Hojlund, create no chances for Hojlund, take Hojlund off. Poor fella. Antony, McTominay, Garnacho...create nothing for him, ever."

A second tweeted: "McTominay is actually taking the p**s. He may as well just have got out a deck chair and put his feet and watched Paqueta."

A third added: "Why tf is it Mainoo dropping deep, doing the dirty week, whilst McTominay just gets a free role in the final 3rd? Mainoo is nearly 10 years younger ffs."

Another commented: "It feels like McTominay is the one fresh out of Carrington and Mainoo’s the 27 year old Manchester United midfielder."

A fifth wrote: "Need Casemiro fit asap. I’ve honestly had enough of McTominay starting in midfield."

Erik ten Hag's side have now lost eight league games this season as they drop to eighth place.
