Mason Mount clip shows a 'different side of the story', Man United fans are loving it

Manchester United fans have praised Mason Mount after a clip emerged of him during their game against Wolves.

A clip of Mason Mount from Manchester United's Premier League season opener against Wolves has gone viral and shows a different side of the story.

Mount started on Monday as Man United opened their 2023/24 league campaign with a win over Wolves.

But he was replaced in the second-half without making a big contribution in the game as damning stats made for unflattering viewing.

As per talkSPORT, the England international claimed zero goals, zero assists, created zero chances, made zero crosses, won zero tackles and won zero aerial duals during his time on the pitch.

Erik ten Hag's team were overpowered in midfield, with the 24-year-old getting the brunt of the criticism from fans and critics alike.

But Man United supporters online have jumped to the player's defence as a viral clip highlights his worth to the team, with people on social media loving his endeavour.

The footage shows Wolves hitting Man United with a counter-attack towards the end of the first-half.

Wolves break at pace, with Mount chasing back to defend then intercepting a pass, before winning a foul.

Man United fans loved the midfielder's work ethic and defended his performance.

One Twitter user wrote: "Much better mobility than Eriksen, but we need to see him more involved in the build-up and closer to Casemiro."

A second tweeted: "Him and Bruno were man marked out of the match simple as... not their fault."

A third added: "No way Eriksen is ever doing that! Unfortunately Mason will never get the credit he fully deserves."

A fourth said: "If yesterday was him at his worst, I fear for everyone when he’s at his best."

Another commented: "He will cook give him time."

Mount could have a second chance to impress in a Man United shirt when they resume their league campaign on Saturday against Tottenham.
