Tottenham Hotspur aim savage dig at Callum Wilson after victory over Newcastle United

Spurs were in Premier League action against Newcastle on Sunday afternoon

Tottenham Hotspur have aimed a sly dig at Callum Wilson after their victory over Newcastle United.

On Sunday, Spurs produced a brilliant display at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as they easily swept Newcastle aside.

A brace from Richarlison plus goals from Destiny Udogie and Son Heung Min were enough to seal a much-needed 4-1 victory. Joelinton was on the score sheet for the visitors.

After the match, Magpies striker Wilson was slammed by Spurs fans due to his comments about goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario.

Spurs’ official social media account then aimed a cheeky dig towards Wilson by posting the famous Michael Jordan ‘And I took that personally’ meme but replacing the NBA legend with Richarlison’s face.

This could be traced back to last season when Wilson appeared to mock Richarlison when speaking on The Footballer’s Football Podcast alongside West Ham United man Michail Antonio.

Antonio said: “He's scored four times this season. Three of the times he's been offside [and] he's taken his top off four times this season.”

Wilson added: “He's got four yellows – he's almost on a suspension.”

The pair then started laughing as they chatted about the Brazilian forward.

Speaking about Richarlison during his post-match interview, Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou said: “Richy was great, really important. Him and Pape [Matar Sarr] coming back in gave us some real energy and we were really going to need that today.

“Richy was important to us at the start of the year too, but he wasn't fully fit. He was kind of restricted in his movements. At times, we had to play him at wide to get him through games.”

He continued: “Since he has come back, he feels a lot better physically. It wasn't just his goals, his general work-rate, his energy and physicality were very good for us.”
