Chelsea and Tottenham now face stiff competition from another European club in the race to sign former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann.

Chelsea and Tottenham are both set to miss out on scooping Julian Nagelsmann after he was axed by Bayern Munich, according to stunning reports.

Nagelsmann was sacked ahead of Bayern’s 4-2 victory over fierce rivals Borussia Dortmund on 1st April, with former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel succeeding him.

Bayern were trailing Dortmund in the Bundesliga table and had drawn Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-finals at the time of Nagelsmann’s dismissal.

Chelsea made the shock decision to sack former Brighton manager Graham Potter last Sunday after the Blues’ 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham, much like London rivals Chelsea, are without a manager after Antonio Conte’s contract with the club was terminated last month.

Bruno Saltor has been appointed interim manager at Chelsea after Potter’s sacking, while Cristian Stellini is caretaker boss at Spurs after Conte left the club.

Nagelsmann had recently been linked with Chelsea and Tottenham, but the Premier League clubs could lose out in their bid to snap up the 35-year-old German manager.

Journalist Abdellah Boulma now reports that Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier ‘will no longer’ be head coach at the club next season.

He added that a ‘short-term eviction is even seriously considered by management’ over Galtier, whose future at PSG was plunged into doubt after his side’s Champions League exit.

According to Boulma, PSG have ‘made first contact’ with Nagelsmann in the hopes of him succeeding Galtier in the summer.

Galtier became PSG manager last July after replacing former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, who was axed by the Parisian-based club.

PSG remain in control of the Ligue 1 title race, but the defending French champions are only six points clear of second-place Lens with nine league matches remaining.

Galtier came under mounting pressure after Bayern dumped PSG out of the Champions League last 16 in March.
