King Charles supports recently-promoted football team

King Charles supports recently-promoted football team

King Charles has previously revealed the football team he supports, and they have been promoted to the Premier League this season.

King Charles III's coronation on Saturday will leave its mark on the weekend's games, with several fixtures being rescheduled to fit around the momentous ceremony.

It is a truly pivotal weekend of action up and down the football pyramid, with promotions and relegations to be confirmed depending on certain results.

However, the King himself will not be worried about the status of his team, as his club Burnley have already secured promotion to the Premier League for the 2023/24 season, with the King declaring his support for the Clarets on a trip to the town in Lancashire in 2010.

Clarets manager Vincent Kompany has earned a massive acheivement this season, as his Burnley side have managed to win the Championship in only his first season in charge of the club.

They will mark the Coronation with a trophy lifting ceremony on Monday, with the final game of the season against Cardiff City set to have a party-like atmosphere.

After revealing his support of the Clarets by attending an event, the then Prince of Wales got involved with those who had participated in community projects in the town, with Prince William speaking in his role as the head of the Prince's Trust.

Despite all of this, there may be another cclub fighting for the King's love and support, with King Charles III visiting Wrexham's Racecourse Ground in December alongside Queen Consort Camilla.

The King met Ryan Reynolds, Rob McElhenney, players, and staff at the club during his visit.

With the King's strong connection to Wales as the long-time Prince of Wales, his affections may now be split if Wrexham and Burnley ever meet as the Dragons begin their climb up the football pyramid.

The Royal Family are known to be passionate sports fans, as the new Prince of Wales, William, has been spotted on multiple occasions attending Aston Villa matches in addition to England's matches at Euro 2020.

Prince William is President of the FA, while his wife Catherine, Princess of Wales, is patron of the Rugby Football Union, and is a regular face at international fixtures.

Prince William and Princess Catherine were both at Wales vs England in the Six Nations earlier this year, with the future King supporting Wales in his role with the Wales Rugby Union.
