'Rattled' Man United fan goes viral for exposing all 115 Man City charges

A Manchester United fan has gone viral after breaking down all of Manchester City’s financial charges.

Last weekend, City completed the treble after a 1-0 win against Inter Milan in Istanbul secured their first-ever Champions League trophy.

Pep Guardiola’s men successfully emulated United’s 1999 treble-winning side by winning three major trophies in one season.

However, a United fan has gone viral after posting a video on YouTube listing all the charges placed on City by the Premier League.

Back in February, a statement from the Premier League read: “In accordance with Premier League rule W.82.1, the Premier League confirms that it has today [February 6 2023] referred a number of alleged breaches of the Premier League rules by Manchester City Football Club to a commission under Premier League rule W.3.4.”

It was reported that City were charged with breaking financial fair play regulations 115 times during a nine-year period, between 2009 and 2018.

Fans were quick to react to the United fan’s video on social media.

One said: “This is absolutely beautiful. We’ve broken them completely.”

Another tweeted: “Honestly this is the funniest thing I’ve seen on the internet.”

A third fan added: “They are so rattled it is unreal, keep it up mate.”

Someone else wrote: “The pain you lot are going through oh I love it!!!!”

Whilst a fifth commented: “When is the next episode of this comedy show? Need to buy popcorn.”

After the charges were announced, City said: “Manchester City FC is surprised by the issuing of these alleged breaches of the Premier League rules, particularly given the extensive engagement and vast amount of detailed materials that the EPL has been provided with.

“The club welcomes the review of this matter by an independent commission, to impartially consider the comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence that exists in support of its position.

“As such we look forward to this matter being put to rest once and for all.”
