Michu posted an emotional open letter to football after news of his retirement broke earlier this week.
The Spanish striker is known well in Britain from his hugely popular time as a Swansea player, but also had spells with Real Oviedo, Celta Vigo, Rayo Vallecano, Napoli and Langreo during his career.
His best football was played with the Swans and he's had a difficult time over the last few years of his career, with form and injury a real issue.

And it's an injury which has led to his retirement - with an ankle problem the reason given for Michu calling time on his career at the age of 31.
The Spaniard has taken to Twitter this morning to post a letter to football and it should get all fans shedding a tear

At least Michu has some great memories to take away from his career. He came from nowhere to light up the Premier League with Swansea between 2012 and 2014 - even managing to earn one cap for the Spanish national team at a time where they had a golden generation of players.
The 31-year old was a revelation after signing from Rayo Vallecano for a dirt cheap £2.5 million. Having taken on the number nine shirt at the club, Michu hit the ground running and scored two goals on his debut against Queens Park Rangers.

And he maintained that level of goalscoring form for the rest of the season, bagging a mightily impressive 22 goals in all competitions as Swansea finished in 9th place in the Premier League, and won the League Cup under Michael Laudrup - the club's first major trophy win.
He was simply sensational in his first season, with his form leading to a deserved call-up to the Spain national team.
Like many before him though, Michu struggled to replicate his 18-goal haul in the Premier League the following season, managing just two goals in 2013/14.

The former Celta Vigo man was subsequently loaned to Napoli in Serie A, before being released from his contract in November 2015.
Since then, Michu signed for Austrian side Langreo as well as returning to boyhood club Real Oviedo in the Segunda division for the 2016/17 campaign.
