Lingard has been without a club since leaving Nottingham Forest.

Jesse Lingard's new agents have offered him a club as he seeks to return to football.

Lingard has been without a club since leaving Nottingham Forest at the end of last season.

West Ham United opted against signing him despite a successful loan spell at the London Stadium in 2021.

A move to Saudi Pro League side Al Ettifaq broke down late last year despite the 31-year-old going on trial in the Middle East.

He's grown frustrated over the lack of progress in finding a new club and reportedly severed ties with his representatives last week.

Per Sky Sports News, a source close to Lingard said: โ€œLingard just wants to play football and has subsequently terminated all ties with his former agents."

It's been claimed money is 'not the driving force' behind the former England international's search for a new club.

The Daily Mail have reported Lingard's now been offered to Portland Timbers ahead of the MLS season starting on February 25.

Currently managed by Phil Neville, the Timbers are former MLS champions and finished 10th in the Western Conference last season.

Lingard started his career at Manchester United, scoring the winner in the 2016 FA Cup final.

He'd go on to win the Carabao Cup and Europa League with the Red Devils before falling out of favour under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

After failing to regain his place under interim boss Ralf Rangnick, Lingard opted to let his contract expire.

He penned a short-term deal with Nottingham Forest and failed to register a goal contribution in 17 Premier League appearances.

Last week, Lingard uploaded several images of himself in the gym as he maintains his physique.

United legend Paul Scholes decided to poke fun at Lingard, commenting: "Are you just gonna f**k about in the gym or are you gonna actually play football?"

Lingard decided to have his say after the post quickly went viral.

He sent a series of smiling emojis in the comment section of SPORTbible's post covering the incident.
