Fan footage shows Erik ten Hag's reaction after Bournemouth defeat, he was in utter shock

Erik ten Hag watched on as Bournemouth recorded a comfortable victory over his side at Old Trafford.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was left "stunned" on the Old Trafford touchline after his side suffered a humiliating 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth.

Goals from Dominic Solanke, Philip Billing and Marcos Senesi sealed a historic victory for the Cherries, who secured a first ever Premier League away win at the Theatre of Dreams.

It was, however, a miserable afternoon for the under pressure Erik ten Hag, whose future remains in the balance, despite picking up November's Manager of the Month award.

And after referee Peter Bankes blew his whistle to end Saturday's Premier League clash, the Dutch manager looked a defeated man on the Old Trafford touchline.

In fact, fan footage captured Ten Hag's immediate reaction at full-time, where he could be seen standing in the same position for more than 10 seconds as fans headed for the exit.

Here's how social media reacted to the scenes.

One fan said: "I hate to say it, but I think ten Hag knows the worst is yet to come this season, and I'm not talking about the Liverpool game. The future looks very bleak," while another wrote: "This is a man that has ran out of ideas."

A third commented: "Bro is stunned as much as the fans. How can players be so good in one game and so bad in the other. It's incredible how much it changes."

A fourth wrote: "I feel so so bad for him. Was 100% convinced he was the one. Unfortunately the mess created by Woodward, Solskjaer, Murtough and co has destroyed him. No way back unfortunately I feel."

A fifth added: "He's digging/dug his own grave. Abandoned his own principles and style in favour of something he's unfamiliar with."

Speaking at his post-match press conference, Ten Hag admitted he was disappointed with the performance after such a positive result on Wednesday night.

"I am annoyed and disappointed,'' he said. "I expect something different. I hoped before the game to build on the performance and result from Chelsea. We put a lot of effort in return in the game but the movement in the box was not there.

"You have to be at your best in every game, starting with focus. When you start like we did, you get killed. They are good opponents but we have to do better.

''You need consistency, we can play a very good game against many opponents, we are able to do it but you have to do it every third day.

“Get it right and the demands are of a certain standard. We have to go to higher standards to deliver it every third day.''
