Cristiano Ronaldo was inches away from breaking his free-kick duck for Juventus on Wednesday night when he came up against Lokomotiv Moscow in the Champions League.

The 34-year-old, who has failed to score all 29 of his free-kick attempts for the Italian club since joining in 2018, looked set to open his account in the Group D clash when he struck from distance.

Moscow goalkeeper Guilherme Marinato spilled Ronaldo's initial shot and the ball was about to roll into the net when teammate Aaron Ramsey decided to tap in from a yard.

It was the Welsh midfielder's second goal for the club but perhaps a certain five-time Ballon d'Or winner will want clarification on the effort.

Ramsey, who became the first British player to score for Juventus in the Champions League as a result, immediately ran over to the free-kick taker after he knocked the ball into the back of the net.

He awkwardly put his hands in the air, pointed at Ronaldo and claimed it was the Portuguese international's goal.

It appeared Ronaldo thought the goal was his, judging by his celebration.

Moments later he showcased his disappointment at missing out on scoring his 14th goal of the season as Ramsey made it 1-0 to Juventus in the third minute.

Lokomotiv striker Aleksei Miranchuk equalised just nine minutes later to make it 1-1 to the home side.

Thoughts on Ramsey's goal for Juventus tonight? What do you reckon Ronaldo said?
