In one of the most heartwarming moments of this weekend's Premier League action, Tottenham forward Son Heung-Min was spotted protecting a mascot's head from the rain with his hands.

The brilliant gesture was captured on camera ahead of Spurs' clash against Sheffield United on Saturday afternoon.

Son managed to find the scoresheet in North London as Mauricio Pochettino's side could only manage a draw against the newly promoted Blades, who have impressed since being promoted.

For many though, this clip involving the South Korean international was a real stand out moment.

The 27-year-old was lining up with his teammates as they prepared to shake hands with the opposition when the young lad was covered by Son in a touching gesture.

Just look at his smile when he realises.

"He's got such a pure soul and is so humble." said on Twitter account, while another said: "Sonny protecting his mascot from the rain. Purest soul in the world and I will not be convinced otherwise"

In another great gesture, Son Heung-min helped Mauricio Pochettino's side to a win away to Red Star in the Champions League, but refused to celebrate his goals, instead apologising to Andre Gomes.

The South Korean was distraught a week previously after being involved in an incident that left the Everton midfielder needing to be stretchered off the pitch with a dislocated fracture to his leg.

Son was sent off, though the red card has since been rescinded, and on Wednesday managed to put the incident behind him to score twice in Spurs 4-0 win in Europe.

After his second goal the 27-year-old refused to celebrate, instead appearing to say sorry down the camera.

A true gent of the game.
