Scott McTominay has scored FOUR goals in two matches for Scotland, Man United fans all send same message to Erik ten Hag

"McTominay upfront? Let's run it, United." Scott McTominay has now scored back-to-back braces for Scotland in their Euro 2024 qualifiers.

Manchester United fans are convinced Erik ten Hag should attempt to deploy Scott McTominay as a striker after the Scotland midfielder’s explosive form in the international break.

McTominay has been battling for regular first-team minutes at Old Trafford this season after the arrivals of Christian Eriksen and Casemiro last summer.

Ten Hag axed the notorious McTominay and Fred partnership frequently used by Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick at United.

McTominay’s long-term future has been plunged into doubt at United after Ten Hag opted for a preferred partnership of Casemiro and Eriksen this season.

However, the 26-year-old United midfielder has thrived during the international break and had a crucial impact in Scotland’s first two Euro 2024 qualifying matches.

McTominay scored a late second-half brace against 10-men Cyprus in Scotland’s opening Group A clash at Hampden Park on Saturday.

And now the Scotland star, who has been linked with Newcastle in recent months, produced a stunning brace against Spain at Hampden Park on Tuesday.

McTominay’s double against Spain earned him praise from fans on social media, with United supporters convinced he should be tried as a striker ahead of Wout Weghorst.

One Twitter user asked: “Should Scott McTominay play as a striker for United since he’s scored [four] goals in his last two games for Scotland?”

Someone else commented: “McTominay upfront? Let’s run it, United.”

A third added: “Scott McTominay with four goals in two games. I am once again asking that Man United try him as a centre-forward!”

While one fan wrote: “United should definitely try Scott McTominay [where] Wout [Weghorst] plays. I think he can do that job perfectly and score, too.”

“I’m loving this McTominay at striker push, it’s too funny,” a fifth posted.

And a sixth fan said: “United should have a look at this McTominay fella.”
