Folarin Balogun adds 'Arsenal' back to his Instagram bio, he could be staying after all

Folarin Balogun adds 'Arsenal' back to his Instagram bio, he could be staying after all

He could be staying at Arsenal.

Folarin Balogun has put Arsenal back in his Instagram bio suggesting that he could be staying at the Emirates beyond the summer.

Balogun is one of the most sought-after players on the market, having enjoyed a breakthrough campaign while on loan at Reims last season, netting 21 goals in 27 Ligue 1 games.

However, his haul was not enough to guarantee him a place in Mikel Arteta’s side, with Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Jesus ahead of the Hale End graduate in the pecking order.

Born in New York, the 22-year-old ended the season by resolving his international future, announcing he would become a senior international for the US, despite having made 13 appearances for England’s Under-21s.

And the youngster will now look to resolve his future at club level. Balogun’s performances have attracted interest from sides across Europe, with the likes of AC Milan, Inter, Marseille, Monaco and RB Leipzig having all been linked in the past few weeks.

Meanwhile, Football Transfers have claimed Chelsea have entered talks with the striker.

Balogun to stay at Arsenal?

With pre-season preparation underway and a tour of the US around the corner, eagle-eyed Arsenal supporters have spotted a potential hint that Balogun is set to remain in north London.

Those who would have watched his Instagram activity with intrigue will have spotted Balogun has added ‘Arsenal’ back in his bio, having previously had his loan clubs Reims on his Instagram.

While it is normal for a player to make such a change when returning from a loan, with Balogun’s future up in the air some Arsenal supporters have celebrated this as evidence of his decision to stay at the club.

It has been widely reported that Arsenal have placed a £50million price tag on the striker, who is keen for regular game-time and unwilling to go out on loan again.

Balogun has been on the Gunners’ books since he was seven, but only made 10 senior appearances for the club, having spent the second half of the 2021/22 campaign on loan at Middlesbrough before his spell at Reims.
