Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Man Utd? Respected journalist reveals what he's heard about Napoli star

He has revealed what he's heard about the Napoli star.

A journalist has opened up on the prospect of Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia signing for Manchester United in January.

Erik ten Hag has suddenly become very short of options on the right flank.

Indeed, Antony has agreed to take time away from the club until further notice while he fights assault accusations made by three women. It is unclear when the winger, who vehemently denies all the claims made against him, will be available for selection again.

Meanwhile, Sancho allegedly held face-to-face talks with Ten Hag on Monday, a week after the England forward publicly refuted his manager’s claim he was not in the United’s squad against Arsenal because of his performances in training.

The 23-year-old claimed Ten Hag’s comments were “completely untrue” in an outburst on social media, adding that he had become a “scapegoat”.

Together, Antony and Sancho cost some £158million and the situations facing both present significant headaches for Ten Hag for the first half of the campaign.

In turn, United may dip into the market in January or next summer to bring in a right-winger. Among the names to have been touted by fans is Kvaratskhelia, who played a starring role as Napoli claimed their first Scudetto in over three decades last term.

And on the prospect of the 22-year-old moving to Old Trafford, the Mail Online’s Mike Keegan stressed that while United were interested in the winger, it is unlikely he will make a move in the coming window.

Instead, United will look for a short-term fix in January to see them through to the end of the season.

Keegan said: “He plays on the other side but it wouldn’t surprise me if Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was in the Premier League next season.

“I know he’s had admirers here, including United, but I can’t imagine he would come cheap and a switch during the season may be unlikely.

“As for January, a loan move may be the answer to get them through until the end of the campaign.”
