Fabrizio Romano drops exciting Liverpool transfer update as Wataru Endo's 'private plane tracked'

Wataru Endo is undergoing his Liverpool medical having had his flight was tracked from Germany, it has been claimed.

It has been widely reported that Liverpool have struck a deal to sign Japanese defensive midfielder Endo for €18million (£15.4million) from Stuttgart.

Liverpool are looking to tie up the transfer after being beaten to the signatures of Moises Caicedo from Brighton and Romeo Lavia from Southampton, with both players opting to move to Chelsea, despite Liverpool agreeing fees with their clubs.

There are no such problems anticipated in this deal, with Endo, who is the captain of both Japan and Stuttgart, having already agreed personal terms with the Reds.

Indeed, the player reportedly views the move as the biggest opportunity of his career.

The transfer has been driven by Liverpool’s new sporting director Jorg Schmadtke, who was only appointed in May.

Endo will allegedly undergo his medical on Thursday and a deal could potentially be finalised in time for the Japan international to feature against Bournemouth on Saturday.

Indeed transfer guru Fabrizio Romano wrote on Twitter: "Wataru Endō, currently undergoing first part of medical tests as new Liverpool player after surprising move revealed yesterday night.

"Endō travelled to Merseyside on [Wednesday] night with his camp after Stuttgart green light to complete his dream move."

Furthermore, on Wednesday evening, hours after news broke that Liverpool had agreed a fee for Endo, eagled-eyed Liverpool fans believed they had spotted the player’s flight arriving in Liverpool for a medical.

As per Flightradar 24, on Wednesday evening a private plane landed at Liverpool John Lennon Airport at 10:48pm from Stuttgart.

Liverpool have been on the hunt for a No.6 after selling Fabinho to Al-Ittihad and their former captain Jordan Henderson to Al-Ettifaq for a combined £52million.

Klopp’s midfield has been reinforced this summer by the arrival of Hungary’s Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig and World Cup-winning Argentina international Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton.

Endo has spent the past four years at Stuttgart, where he netted 15 goals in 133 appearances.
